Free morning to enjoy the charms of the City of Kings.

In the early afternoon, departure by bus to Paracas (3 hours and 30 minutes approximately). During the trip, you will be able to discover the arid landscapes of the Pacific coast.

day 3: The Ballestas islands and the Huacachina Oasis
You will head to the port of Paracas from where you will leave to discover the Ballestas Islands by boat. Thanks to the Humboldt sea current, which favours the proliferation of plankton, this small archipelago is home to a unique biodiversity. During this tour, you will be able to contemplate the local fauna located in a preserved environment such as the sea lion colonies, penguins and many species of sea birds.

Lunch on your own in Paracas.

Bus departure to Nasca (4h trip approximately).

Stop along the way to discover a traditional bodega in Ica, where you will discover the production process of Pisco, the national alcohol.

You will then continue the road to the Huacachina Oasis. Located in the middle of the desert, it is an exceptional spectacle with a pond of water surrounded by palm trees and dunes, taken directly from a comic book.

You will then go towards Nasca.

day 4: Morning at leisure in Nazca and road to Arequipa

day 5: Visit to the white city of Arequipa
Departure on foot from your hotel: This afternoon is dedicated to the visit of the second largest city in the country, located at the foot of an impressive chain of volcanoes, including the Misti, which ends at more than 5800 meters of altitude.

You will start your city tour at the Plaza de Armas.

You will enjoy the charming Cathedral, built in sillar.

You will also visit the cloister of the Company, one of the oldest churches in the city.

The discovery of the city will continue with the visit of the Santa Catalina Convent. The monastery covers an area of 20 000 m2 and until 1970 it housed about 500 nuns who lived far from the outside world.

day 6: Departure to the Colca Canyon
Early in the morning, departure to the Colca Canyon by private vehicle.

During the trip you will pass by the Salinas and Aguada Blanca Natural Reserve located at approximately 4300 meters of altitude. In addition, you will be able to see herds of llamas.

You will pass through the Patabamaba pass, at more than 4900 meters of altitude, and will feel the effects of the lack of oxygen. This place is a perfect point of view to appreciate the volcanoes and snow-capped mountains like the Hualca-Hualca, the Sabancaya and the Ampato.

The thousands of agricultural terraces inherited from ancient civilizations highlight the geographical importance of the Colca River Valley; fertile, abysmal and majestic.

You will arrive at the village of Yanque or Chivay and settle in your hotel.

day 7: The Colca Canyon and Departure to Puno
Early in the morning, you will go to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint from where you will have an impressive view of the landscape that the canyon and its valley offers. From this rocky point, you will observe the magnificent condors flying in their home.

You will descend the canyon passing by the Antehuilque and Choquetico viewpoints, famous for their pre-Inca cemetery and their suspended tombs. You will discover many traditional villages, such as: Maca, Achoma and Yanque and their colonial baroque church.

Lunch on your own in Chivay.

After lunch, departure to Puno by line bus.

During this trip you will make some stops to enjoy the Andean landscapes and the biodiversity of this region.

day 8: Visit the Uros floating islands and Amantani
Transfer to the port of Puno.

Departure by boat to discover the Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world.

You will start this excursion, visiting the Uros Islands, approximately 40 islands made with aquatic plants and reinforced with reeds from the lake or "Totora". This excursion will allow you to meet the Uros community living on the different islands.

You will continue the journey towards the Amantani Island. There you will discover the different activities of the island's inhabitants, including agriculture with many terraced crops, goat and sheep breeding, as well as the handicrafts that have gradually developed in conjunction with tourism.

day 9: Visit Taquile island and return to Puno.
After a typical breakfast with your host family, you will take the boat to go to the Taquile island.

Taquile is a peaceful island with green hills. This will be an opportunity to discover the traditions of the island's inhabitants, who have a high quality textile tradition. The typical costume, reflecting civil status and function in the community, is also a particularity that the inhabitants will be proud to share with you.

Return by boat to Puno after lunch.

day 10: Crossing the Altiplano between Puno and Cusco
Departure from Puno to Cusco by bus.

You will cross the great scenery of the Andean highlands, making several stops at different sites of interest.

You will discover the lithic museum of Pucara, which portrays the evolution of the Andean people from the first men to the Incas.

Then you will make a stop at the Abra la Raya (4335 meters). There you will discover the majestic Cordillera Real, in the heart of the South American mountain range.

Stop for lunch in Sicuani.

Visit to the site of Raqchi where the Inca temple of Wiracocha, the creator god, is located.

Finally you will visit Andahuaylillas. This small town is famous for its early 17th century church, known as the "Sistine Chapel of South America".

day 11: Cusco and its surrounding areas
The capital of the Inca Empire, classified as a World Heritage Site, has managed to preserve its historic center with its cobbled streets and perfectly carved stone walls. During the day you will visit the famous imperial city, including the Plaza de Armas. You will have the opportunity to discover the stone of the 12 angles an Inca construction where the stones are perfectly intertwined.

Then, you will go to the Golden Temple or "Coricancha" in Quechua; there you will discover the foundations of the Santo Domingo monastery as well as the colonial church.

You will discover the main market of the city, San Pedro. It is the most important market of the city and you can find fruits, vegetables, spices, flowers.

Departure in private vehicle to discover the main archaeological sites around Cusco, such as the fortress of Saqsayhuaman, a place designed to protect the city. During the day you will also visit the ceremonial baths of Tambomachay, dedicated to the adoration of water and gods. Then the visit will continue with the fortress of Puka Pukara and the ceremonial site of Q'enko, a place of worship for the Incas.

day 12: Visit the Sacred Valley of the incas
Departure from your hotel at 08:00.

Visit to the Moray site, composed of concentric circular terraces.

You will continue the discovery of the sacred valley of the Incas with the visit of the Mine Salt of Maras. The saltworks are made up of more than three hundred terraces on the mountainside; the salt is extracted there thanks to a supply of salt water from the basins, where the water evaporates and leaves a thin layer of solidified salt, hardened by the sun.

Visit of the fortress of Ollantaytambo. The strategic geographical location of this last Inca fortress allowed the Incas to resist the Spanish troops; the remains of the fortress are witness to the confrontations that took place after the loss of Cusco to the conquistadors.

Transfer from your hotel to the Ollantaytambo train station.

Transfer by train to Aguas Calientes.

You will take the bus to go to the site.

day 14: Visit to Pisac
Departure to Pisac village. On the road, visit of a llamas and alpacas farm, the south americans camelids. It will be possible to observe the complete weaving process of this much sought-after wool, which is fine, light and very pleasant to the touch.

The fortress of Pisac controlled the comings and goings on the right bank of the Vilcanota River. The Incas had set up a large administrative centre there, which governed the entire province. Possibility, for those who wish to walk down to the village of Pisaq.

In the afternoon, you will go towards the village of Pisac. A free time at the handicraft market will allow you to discover all the Andean handicrafts: ponchos, alpaca and sheep textiles, jewelry, antiques, paintings and many other quality items.

day 15: Departure to the Amazon Rain forest
Departure from your hotel to the Cusco airport.

You will flight to Puerto Maldonado.

Welcome in Puerto Maldonado airport.

Departure to the port of Puerto Maldonado.

After approximately 45 minutes of navigation in the Madre de Dios River, arrival to the Lodge Corto Maltes Amazonia.

Welcome cocktail and installation in your bungalows.

In the afternoon, first encounter with the forest. Excursion in the jungle on the trochas (small paths that wind through the forest). You will discover the huge trees that compose the forest as well as medicinal plants.

At nightfall, boat ride on the river to observe alligators.

day 16: Visit the Amazonia
Departure by boat for a 20 minute ride on the Madre de Dios River, in the direction of "Sandoval Lake", which is home to a large number of animal species. After a 3 km walk through the jungle and the Tambopata National Reserve, you will take a canoe ride on the lake where you will be able to observe different species that live in the area, such as monkeys, turtles, birds, butterflies, etc., as well as a great variety of tropical flowers.

You will have free time to enjoy the swimming pool and the services of the Lodge.

In the afternoon, departure to one of the observation towers of the Lodge. There you will be able to admire the canopy, as well as many species of birds that live in the treetops.

day 17: Visit the Amazonia
Today, you will take a boat ride along the river for 20 minutes to La Chacra.

Here, local fruits and vegetables are naturally grown by a typical family. You will have the opportunity to visit this place and taste some tropical fruits from their crops.

Then, you will meet the Machiguenga family, an ethnic group from the Amazon basin. You will discover their traditions and daily activities.

A typical jungle dish will be served at the Machiguenga camp.

day 18: Puerto Maldonado / Lima
Expedition at dawn to the "colpa de loros" (parrot clay lick), where hundreds of multicolored parrots arrive to peck a clay specific to their organisms.

Return to the Lodge and breakfast.

Return to Puerto Maldonado by boat.

Before departure, you will visit the city and the typical market, then transfer to the airport.

You will fly to Lima (2 hours 30 of flight approximately with a stop in Cusco).
