Tambomachay

This is one of the sites you can see at the exit of Cusco, on the way to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a little way away from the main road. There are 3 important terraces in carved stone, that are connected thanks to stairs and walls engraved with different symbols in relation with the Inca religion. Moreover, Tambomachay owes its nickname of Baño del Inca (Inca bath) to the source of natural water that is erupting in the second terrace until a ceremonial stone bath that the Incas must have diverted surrounding sources to provide water to the center.
