Huacachina Oasis

Among several high sand dunes, in the middle of an arid desert, the oasis and Lake of Huacachina seem to be a mirage. In the center there is a lake in which the water is emerald and has smell of Sulphur – that is why it is reputed to be helpful to cure some skin diseases. You can see all around old and colonial houses, high palm trees and flowering bougainvillea which make the atmosphere almost idyllic. The environment is so beautiful that it has been reproduced on the back of the 50 soles’ banknotes. In the past, it was a meeting point for the Peruvian high society and now, the small oasis is invaded by tourists and travelers from everywhere that come to have parties and enjoy the night life in Peru.
