Aguas-Calientes

This is an entrance door of the famous Machu Picchu. Aguas Calientes is the village on the mountain foot, where the sanctuary is located. Its name, which means “hot springs” in Spanish, comes from the presence of thermal sources in the immediate surroundings of the city. Today, this has turned entirely to tourism , the atmosphere is less authentic but not less pleasant: heat from the near jungle, cloud curtain passing and passing again, the different bars and the relaxing and enthusiastic atmosphere of who will see one of the 7 world wonders…Going out at night in Aguas Calientes the previous day is an must-do before climbing.
