Sillustani

The site and Sillustani peninsula, on the way between Puno and Juliaca, houses several towers made of rounded stones called chullpa, in an enchanting setting at this altitude. Those towers must have been graves of the Inca and pre-Inca period (Colla civilization, with Aymara language). Nowadays, they are empty but their massive appearance is still reflecting in the crystalline waters of Umayo Lake. In the middle of the waters, an isolated island, alone,  intriguing, seems to fix the visitors. This exceptional archaeological site gives the sensation of being transported to a parallel dimension.
