It is located at 30 km from the city of Nazca. This is a necropolis from the period of the Nazca culture, in expansion between the second century B.C. and the 9th century. There are skulls, bones, pieces of tissues, of ceramics, etc. that were gathered from all over the surrounding desert. Those object were left behind by tomb raiders who only stole what it had the most monetary and commercial values. It is also possible to see numerous mummies in a very good state of conservation despite of the years thanks especially to the arid climate of the Nazca region. This is the only place of Peru where it is possible to observe mummies in their original tombs.
