day 12: Visit of the Sacred Valley of the Incas
Departure by private transport to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
The day begins with a visit to the archaeological site of Moray, famous for its circular agricultural terraces arranged in an amphitheater shape. This site is believed to have served as an agricultural laboratory, where local civilizations recreated different microclimates to experiment with the cultivation of various crops.
The journey continues to the impressive Maras salt mines. A natural saltwater spring feeds the pools, and under the sun’s effect, the water evaporates, leaving a fine layer of crystallized salt.
Free lunch in Urubamba, in the heart of the Sacred Valley.
In the afternoon, you will discover the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo, a site full of history. The village is one of the few places that has preserved its original Inca layout almost intact: cobbled streets, finely carved stone walls, and an urban organization typical of the Inca era.
