day 3: Ballestas islands and trip to Nazca
Vous vous dirigerez vers le port de Paracas, d'où vous partirez découvrir en bateau les Îles Ballestas. Lors de cette balade, vous pourrez contempler la faune locale située dans un cadre préservé telle que des colonies de lions de mers, des pingouins ainsi que de nombreuses espèces d’oiseaux marins.

Déjeuner libre à Paracas.

Départ en bus de ligne en direction de Nazca (4h de trajet environ).

Arrêt en cours de route pour découvrir une bodega artisanale à Ica, où vous découvrirez le processus de production du Pisco, l'alcool national.

Vous continuerez ensuite la route vers l’oasis de Huacachina. Situé en plein désert, c’est un spectacle exceptionnel avec un point d’eau entouré de palmiers et de dunes, tout droit sorti d’un album de bande dessiné.

Vous reprendrez ensuite la route en direction de Nazca.

day 4: Morning at leisure in Nasca and road to Arequipa

Departure by bus line to Arequipa (10 hours trip approximately).

Night arrival in Arequipa.

day 5: Free day in Arequipa
Free day in Arequipa.

We recommend you visit the famous Catholic sites of the city such as the Cathedral, the Convent of Santa Catalinaand the Cloister of the Compañia.

You can go to the Mirador and admire the beautiful surrounding volcanoes, including the famous Misti.

Alternatively, you can visit the Alpaca factories. You will have the chance to discover the creation of alpaca products and get to know the different varieties.

day 6: Trekking in Colca canyon
Departure in touristic bus to the Colca Canyon, into the peruvian Andes, dotted with peaks and volcanoes up to the great descent of Chivay, the point of entry into the Colca Canyon.

You will pass through the area of Pampa Cañahua, a natural reserve of vicuñas and other Andean camelids (Reserva nacional de Salinas y Aguada Blanca).

Breakfast included in Cabanaconde.

Departure to the trekking after lunch.

Descent to the bottom of the canyon.

Dinner and night in San Juan de Chuccho.

day 7: Trekking in Colca Canyon
Walking across of Tapay, Cosñirhua and Malata villages.

day 8: Trekking in Colca Canyon
Departure around 4h30, in order to avoid the heat, to reach the village of Cabanaconde. After breakfast, departure to the cross of the condor in collective bus.

You will have some time on site to appreciate the flight of the condors, they do this daily and at the same time.

Lunch at leisure in Chivay, then you will head back to Arequipa, where you will arrive at the end of the day.

day 9: Departure to Puno
Transfer to the bus terminal.

Departure by line bus to Puno. The gradual ascent to the Altiplano leads to splendid landscapes of altitude, populated by numerous herds of llamas and alpacas. On the way you may have the opportunity to admire several high altitude lakes that are home to many species of ducks and flamingos.

Arrival to Puno. From here you can enjoy the famous Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.

day 10: Visiting the Uros floating islands and the Amantani island
Transfer to the port of Puno.

Departure by boat to discover the Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world.

You will start this excursion, visiting the Uros Islands, approximately 40 islands made with aquatic plants and reinforced with reeds from the lake or "Totora". In addition, you will meet the inhabitants of these islands.

You will continue the excursion on the Amantani Island. You will also discover the traditions of the inhabitants, in particular their terraced agriculture and the breeding of llamas, goats and sheep as well as their handicraft.

day 11: Visit to Taquile Island and return to Puno
After a traditional breakfast in your host family house, you take the boat to go to the Taquile island.

Taquile is a peaceful island with lush green hills, a contrast to the bright blue of Lake Titicaca.This will be an opportunity to discover the traditions of the island's inhabitants, who have a high quality textile tradition.

The typical costume, which reflects the civil status and function in the community, is also a particularity of the island that the locals will be proud to share with you.

Return to Puno and transfert to your hotel.

day 12: Crossing the Altiplano between Puno and Cusco
Departure from Puno to Cusco by bus.

You will cross the great scenery of the Andean highlands, making several stops at different sites of interest.

You will discover the lithic museum of Pucara, which portrays the evolution of the Andean people from the first men to the Incas.

Then you will make a stop at the Abra la Raya (4335 meters). There you will discover the majestic Cordillera Real, in the heart of the South American mountain range.

Stop for lunch in Sicuani.

Visit to the site of Raqchi where the Inca temple of Wiracocha, the creator god, is located.

Finally you will visit Andahuaylillas. This small town is famous for its early 17th century church, known as the "Sistine Chapel of South America".

day 13: Free day in Cusco
Day at leisure in Cusco.

During this day, we recommend you to visit the Temple of Gold, or "Coricancha" in Quechua; as well as the impressive colonial cathedral, whose construction began in 1559 and lasted nearly a hundred years.

A trip to the city's main market, San Pedro, which is always bustling with activity, will be an opportunity to soak up the local atmosphere!

day 14: Departure to the Lares Trek
You will leave Cusco in the morning to reach the thermal baths of Lares, located at 3250 m. Once you arrive, you will be able to enjoy the thermal waters and then have lunch.

You will start the trek in the direction of Huacahuasi (3600 m), where your first camp will be set up.

Overnight in the tent.

Walking time: About 4 hours
Positive altitude difference: 3250 - 3800 (+ 550 meters)

day 15: The Lares Trek
On this day, you will start walking towards the Huacahuasijasa pass (4500 m) before descending to a magnificent lake. You will have lunch a little further down, near the Milpo Lake. On the way down, the valley will become greener and you will be able to admire the waterfalls in the middle of a forest of Queuñas, endemic trees of the sacred valley.

You will then head towards the second camp, on the heights of Yanahuara, in the community of Mantachaymiyoc (3550 m).

day 16: The Lares Trek
Today you will walk between the trees of Queuñas and descend along the terraces of Yanahuara to reach the sacred valley of the Incas and the Vilcanota River.

In Pachar, you will follow an old Inca trail to the village of Ollantaytambo (2850 m), where you will have some free time to discover the village, striking by its architecture which has changed very little over the centuries.

You will go by train to Aguas Calientes, the village at the foot of the Machu Picchu sanctuary.

Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Walking time: 3 to 4 hours approximately.
Negative altitude difference: 3550 - 2850 (- 900 meters)

day 17: Visit to Machu Picchu
You will take the bus to go to the site.

The guided tour of the site lasts approximately two hours.

Dream of any traveler, legend not having delivered all its mysteries yet, the citadel of Machu Picchu continues to bewitch and seduce the visitors in search of magic.

Return by bus to Aguas Calientes.

Departure by train to Ollantaytambo.

Transfer from Ollantaytambo train station to Cusco.

Options: Visit to the Sacred Valley

Visit to the Moray site, composed of concentric circular terraces. They would probably have served as an agricultural laboratory.

You will also visit the salt mines of Maras. The salt mines are composed of more than three hundred terraces on the mountainside.

Visit of the fortress of Ollantaytambo. The strategic geographical location of this last Inca stronghold allowed them to resist the Spaniards.

day 19: Cusco / Lima and end of your journey
