day 1: Departure to the 2 days inca trail
Early in the morning, departure by bus from your hotel, you will pass through the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the town of Ollantaytambo.

Once you reach km 104 of the railway line, called Chachabamba (2270 m), it will be necessary to cross the bridge over the Rio Urubamba; from there, you can see the remains of Chachabamba, an Inca site, organized around a sacred stone.
From this point the ascent of approximately 400 meters begins, during the ascent, the view of the neighboring mountains is impressive such as the imposing glacier of Wacay Wilca (the weeping God), usually known as "Verónica".
The ascent ends with the spectacle of a series of terraced cultures (andenes), aqueducts and ceremonial centres in a place called Wiñay Wayña (2650 m). After visiting these fabulous remains, you will continue the journey to Inti Punku (or sun gate), from where you can see Machu Picchu for the first time.
Your journey ends when you arrive to Machu Picchu (you wouldn't visit the site, as this will take place the next day).
Descent by bus to Aguas Calientes.
