We recommend you visit the famous Catholic sites of the city such as the Cathedral, the Convent of Santa Catalinaand the Cloister of the Compañia.

You can go to the Mirador and admire the beautiful surrounding volcanoes, including the famous Misti.

Alternatively, you can visit the Alpaca factories. You will have the chance to discover the creation of alpaca products and get to know the different varieties.

day 4: Arequipa and Departure to Puno
Transfer to the bus station.

Departure by bus line to Puno.

The gradual ascent to the Altiplano leads to splendid landscapes of altitude, populated by numerous herds of llamas and alpacas. On the way you may have the opportunity to admire some high altitude lakes that are home to many species of ducks and flamingos.

Arrival in Puno from where you can enjoy the famous Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.

day 5: Visit the Uros floating islands and Taquile
Transfer to the port of Puno.

Departure by boat to discover the Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world.

You will start this excursion, visiting the Uros Islands, approximately 40 islands made with aquatic plants and reinforced with reeds from the lake or "Totora". In addition, you will meet the inhabitants of these islands.

Taquile is a peaceful island with lush green hills, a contrast to the bright blue of Lake Titicaca.This will be an opportunity to discover the traditions of the island's inhabitants, who have a high quality textile tradition.

day 6: Crossing the Altiplano
Departure from Puno to Cusco by bus.

You will cross the great scenery of the Andean highlands, making several stops at different sites of interest.

You will discover the lithic museum of Pucara, which portrays the evolution of the Andean people from the first men to the Incas.

Then you will make a stop at the Abra la Raya (4335 meters). There you will discover the majestic Cordillera Real, in the heart of the South American mountain range.

Stop for lunch in Sicuani.

Visit to the site of Raqchi where the Inca temple of Wiracocha, the creator god, is located.

Finally you will visit Andahuaylillas. This small town is famous for its early 17th century church, known as the "Sistine Chapel of South America".

During this day, we recommend you to visit the Temple of Gold, or "Coricancha" in Quechua; as well as the impressive colonial cathedral, whose construction began in 1559 and lasted nearly a hundred years.

A trip to the city's main market, San Pedro, which is always bustling with activity, will be an opportunity to soak up the local atmosphere!

Options: Visit to the Sacred Valley

Visit to the Moray site, composed of concentric circular terraces. They would probably have served as an agricultural laboratory.

You will also visit the salt mines of Maras. The salt mines are composed of more than three hundred terraces on the mountainside.

Visit of the fortress of Ollantaytambo. The strategic geographical location of this last Inca stronghold allowed them to resist the Spaniards.

day 9: Departure to the Lares Trek
You will leave Cusco in the morning to reach the thermal baths of Lares, located at 3250 m. Once you arrive, you will be able to enjoy the thermal waters and then have lunch.

You will start the trek in the direction of Huacahuasi (3600 m), where your first camp will be set up.

day 10: The Lares Trek
On this day, you will start walking towards the Huacahuasijasa pass (4500 m) before descending to a magnificent lake. You will have lunch a little further down, near the Milpo Lake. On the way down, the valley will become greener and you will be able to admire the waterfalls in the middle of a forest of Queuñas, endemic trees of the sacred valley.

You will then head towards the second camp, on the heights of Yanahuara, in the community of Mantachaymiyoc(3550 m).

day 11: The Lares Trek
Today you will walk between the trees of Queuñas and descend along the terraces of Yanahuara to reach the sacred valley of the Incas and the Vilcanota River.

In Pachar, you will follow an old Inca trail to the village of Ollantaytambo (2850 m), where you will have some free time to discover the village, striking by its architecture which has changed very little over the centuries.

You will go by train to Aguas Calientes, the village at the foot of the Machu Picchu sanctuary.

Walking time: 3 to 4 hours approximately.

day 12: Visit Machu Picchu
You will take the bus to go to the site.

The guided tour of the site lasts approximately two hours.

Dream of any traveler, legend not having delivered all its mysteries yet, the citadel of Machu Picchu continues to bewitch and seduce the visitors in search of magic.

Return by bus to Aguas Calientes.

day 14: Visit to the Chavin archaeological site
Today, you will see the Querococha Lake, you will pass through the Kawish tunnel 4500m above the sea level, and the Conchucos valley.

You will visit the Chavin site and go back 3000 years in time. The Chavin civilization is considered to be the mother culture of Peru's development and this site was a very important and influential political and religious center.

day 15: Departure day to the Mini Huayhuash trek.
Departure early in the morning, transfert from Huaraz to Quartelhuain (4/5 hours).

We'll discover one of the most beautiful landscape of the whole White Cordillera and the Huayhuash Cordillera. We start our trekking to our first pass: the Sambuy Punta (15584 ft), walking close to the Rondoy snowy mountain.

day 16: The Mini Huayhuash Trek
Many hikes are possible to make today: possibility to bypass Lake Jahuacocha in order to observe birds, or discover Lake Solterocha (4120 m / 13527 ft.) and Lake Rasaccocha (4420 m / 14501 ft). It is also possible to climb up to Punta Yaucha (4850 m / 15912 ft.) and go along the ridge of Cerro Huacrish (4750 m / 15584 ft.) to enjoy a beautiful view of Quebrada Jahuacocha.
