The Bougainville cormorant or Guanay

Phalacrocorax bougainvillii. Size: 76 cm This bird is present only on the South American Pacific coast, it is the main producer of guano, which made the wealth of Peru in the 19th and 20th century. Characteristic, with its white belly and its eye surrounded by red feathers, it is in danger of extinction due to the modification of its environment and overfishing.
