Queñua ( Polylepis spp)

This rustic and typically Andean tree, from 4 to 21 meters in height, only grows from 3000 meters above sea level and up to the limit of eternal snow. It is very resistant to the cold and was cultivated by the Incas to feed animals at high altitude, as well as to use its wood.
