Day by day

day 1: Departure day to the trekking between Choquequirao and Machu Picchu.
Head towards the Apurimac Valley in a semi tropical decoration through papayes and bananes plantations.

Cachora is going to be our departure point. Hiking on a flat path close to Padreyoc glacier. the heat is coming meet while going down to Chiquisca village. Going across the Apurimac river by the Playa Rosalina bridge. the hike becomes harder and start climbing to Santa Rosa village where the camp is setting up.

day 2: Trek between Santa Rosa and Choquequirao.
Ending the hike to Choquequirao site archeologique. during this climb it is possible to see somme hummingbirds and orchids.

In the afternoon, visit the site which was re discover in the 80's by a peruvian-french team.

day 3: Maizal / Yanama
You will continue to go up, passing by the mines of Victoria, former lead and silver mines, used by the Incas.

Just before the 4150 m pass, we walk on a path in original state of Inca pavement.

Then you will go down to the camp at 3650 meters, in the village of Yanama.

day 4: Yanama / Totora
After breakfast you will climb the second pass of our route, which is with its 4670 meters the highest of the trek.

Very nice view on the snowy peaks around us.

Camp at 3630 m of altitude, in the village of Totora.

day 5: Totora / Playa

Hike down to the Totora river valley.

You can see a rich flora and fauna, especially hummingbirds as well as orchids and begonias.

You will camp at 2000 meters, it's your last camp,

Departure by a private vehicle to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo in Santa Teresa to enjoy a well-deserved rejuvenation.

day 6: Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Aguas Calientes
We will start this new stage with an old Inca road that will allow us to reach the site of Llactapata (2590 m), which was both a place of rest and a stopover to reach the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

If conditions allow, we will be able to see the remains of the lost city of the Incas.

Then we will go down again towards the Hydroelectrica station where we will have lunch (1950 m).

After that, we will walk to Aguas Calientes (about 3 hours), located at 2050 m. During this walk, we will be able to meet beautiful landscapes.

day 7: Machu Picchu
You will take the bus to go towards the Inca site. (about 20 min.). Your entrance ticket to Machu Picchu will be purchased in advance according to availability.

The guided visit on the site, lasts approximately two hours. Discovered in 1911 by the American explorer and archaeologist Hiram Bingham, Machu Picchu celebrated in 2011 the centenary of its rediscovery.

A dream of every traveler, legend having not yet delivered all its mysteries, the citadel of Machu Picchu continues to bewitch and seduce visitors in search of magic. Its geographical location gives it an insolent and intoxicating beauty.

After the guided tour, you will have a free time to walk freely on the site and immerse yourself in its magic.

Return by bus to Aguas Calientes (about 20 min)

Lunch at leisure

Train departure to Ollantaytambo (about 1h40).

Transfer from Ollantaytambo station to Cusco (Duration: about 1h30 min).

Dinner at leisure and night in Cusco.
