It is located along the Pan-American Highway, where this immense beach of fine sand seems to be a paradise on earth. There, the first oil wells of the entire continent have been drilled in 1882. Today, the wells are closed but the horseshoe shape makes the currents relatively weak and the water relatively hot. The nearest thermal waters give an impression of paradise as well.
