Urubamba

which is an important transport point,  is situated almost in the middle of the Sacred Valley. It is at lower altitude than Cusco; the atmosphere is more welcoming and the maize, vegetable and tuber cultivations are numerous. Wonderful excursions in nature are proposed around Urubamba (VTT, treks, paraglider, horse riding…). It is bordered by high Andean mountains, therefore the landscapes are amazing. The market, which opens three times a week, is also nice and interesting to visit.
