What originally was a simple fishing port became, after some time, a much appreciated seaside resort, mainly during summer. The immense beach, empty during half a year, lives at the rhythm of the traditional fishing, for what they use the caballitos de totora (small and traditional boats made of reed). Restaurants of sea food that border the pediment are specialized in typical recipes, especially the “chiringuito de guitarra”, based on dried skates’ pulp.
