Museo de Arte Popular

In a remarkable house of the 17th century, pillars made of wood and crossed stone arches (all versions of the ayacuchano popular art) are standing here for you; for instance, silver work, weaving, wood or stone sculptures, quinoa ceramics, the famous retablos (wooden boxes and characters made of “papier-mâché”), santones, sculpted frameworks, daily and religious scenes… You can also see very interesting series of photos showing the evolution of the city.
