Church of Puno

The Puno Cathedral is mainly different by its austerity and the mix of pre-Inca (sun, moon, charangos, mermaids…) and Christian symbols. The façade is made of finely decorated pink stones that contrast with a sober inside; the whole place owns  a baroque style mixed with local influences. Interesting detail: the Vatican Flag is raised since the Pope’s visit in 1964.
