This is one of the most beautiful districts of Lima. Its small and paved streets contrast with its luxurious lush places, and its old and colonial houses with bright colors, not even a building… The district stayed like an old seaside resort a little bit forgotten during a long time, and few years ago, it has been firstly rediscovered by intellectuals and artists, that made it their headquarter. Then, tourism brought out the apparition of small restaurants and nightclubs and then fashions and publicity shops and other “hype” jobs. The atmosphere is nice, a little bit middleclass; very pleasant and very, very beautiful.
