Ausangate peak

The Ausangate (6384 meters) is a mountain designated as one of the main Apu (divinity) of the city of Cusco and therefore very important in the Andean religion or for payments to the land. The surroundings of the mountain are ideal for hiking as the trekking of the Ausangate that Antipode offers, it consists in going around the summit. Every year a few kilometres from Ausangate, the largest Andean festival takes place: the Qoyllur rit'i festival.
