Museum of the Inquisition

This building has been used between 1570 and 1820 by the Holy Office of the Inquisition. It came from Spain to ensure the faith purity of Peruvian people. After the expulsion of the institution, the place has been occupied by the Senate. The museum houses a huge collection of objects used by the Inquisition for interrogations and tortures, as well as full-scale wax sculptures representing tortured people. The necessary explanations about this institution and its activities over the centuries are very instructional and striking.
