Museum of indigenous clothes and art

Also called “museo textile etnografico”, it presents throughout explanations of weaving techniques ethnic symbols and groups, indigenous populations from the region of Sucre. The main ethnicities that are presented here are jalq’a, tarabuco, yampara, katus, ch’atus, etc… The exhibition is very well explained and organized by anthropologists of the Asur program. This last one has a purpose to help populations recovering by themselves those traditions and techniques, restoring a feeling of dignity and proudness for their culture. Shapes, colors, the texture of the wool, contrasts, vary from a group to another and explanations, more or less strange, give all this importance to this splendid museum. Opening hours: from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 6.30pm. On Saturday, from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm.
