The desert between the Salar d'Uyuni and the Chilean border is traditionally divided into two parts: North and South. The southern part is contiguous to the Chilean border and includes incredible and famous sites such as the Laguna Colorada, which is entirely red and inhabited by many flamingos. The color palettes offered by the pristine expanses and unlikely geological formations of the southern Lipez deserts are truly end of the world landscapes that have no equivalent in the whole country.
