Cutimbo

It is located at just 20 km from Puno, this amazing archaeological site is on the top of a hill made of volcanic rock. Such as Sillustani, several chullpa, those towers of round or square funeral stone dating from the Inca and pre-Inca period, are scattered in the fertile surrounding plain. On the extern surface of the towers, there are numerous religious details like puma’s and snake’s heads. On the other hand, on the plain, several caves have been carved thought the ages and have been covered by petroglyphs. Those simplified drawings represent men and animals of the pre-Inca daily life.
