Declared World Heritage in 2009, this amazing archaeological complex which is one of the oldest of South America, has been discovered a little time ago. It dates from 2600 to 2000 years B.C. this ceremonial and urban center ruled the surrounding valley, powerful with its 10 000 souls, and the majority of the 18 independent cities of the region. In the own site, the ruins are perfectly preserved: six pyramids made with different degrees of stones are erecting among other rectangular constructions and a big esplanade. It is possible to visit the large and oval amphitheater, the ceremonial rooms, etc. Calabashes, musical instruments, bones, shells, rests of fishing nets have been discovered. The emphasis is particularly good with wonderful guided tours and very good instructive signs; valuable information for the visitor who is coming into this parallel universe that has existed for thousands of years…
